Allah is everywhere, unfettered by space and time
Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's
live interview on Samsun Aks TV, TV Kayseri and Harun Yahya TV (8 September
2010)
OKTAR BABUNA: I seek refuge in Allah from satan "East and West belong to Allah, so
wherever you turn the Face of Allah is there. Allah is All-Encompassing,
All-Knowing." (Surat al-Baqara, 115) This verse expresses the fact
that the Face of Allah is wherever we turn, meaning wherever we turn. Here of
course there is the concept of space and direction and Allah is unfettered by
time and space, insha'Allah. That means it is clearly understood from this
verse that Allah is everywhere, insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR:
Now, look. Our brothers say: in the time of our Prophet (saas) a shepherd girl has
stretched her hands upward and said "Allah is there, in the skies."
And our Prophet (saas) said, "You said the truth." In summary that is
it, I mean this is their main point of reference. Now, okay, she said the
truth. She stretched her hands up and said "Allah is in the sky". Alright Allah is in the sky. And if someone
went to the North Pole, for instance, or the South Pole or the Equator and if the
Prophet (saas) asked him there, what would he say? He would say that "Allah
is in the skies". And a living thing, an angel or a jinn on Venus, Mars or
in any other planet, when asked "where is Allah?", would reply;
"in the skies". In the north, south, east or west of Venus he will
similarly say that He is "in the skies." That means Allah is everywhere.
The matter seems to be problematic because they cannot comprehend it. They
imagine when one says the skies, that there is only one sky and it is the sky
where that young girl was. Allah is on the Earth and in the Skies. Allah is in
the sky, so why should He not also rule the Earth? You accept the fact that He
rules the skies, then why do you not accept that He rules the Earth? Why do you
not admit He is also on Earth? Why do His being on Earth upset you? You ask; "Is
Allah here now?" And they say "He is not. (Surely Allah is beyond
that)" "Where is He?" you ask, and they say, "In the skies."
Why should Allah not be here? Allah says, "I am closer to you than your own jugular vein." (Surat al-Kahf,
16) There is a verse in that context. What does the jugular vein mean? It means
being inside us and Allah says "I
am even closer to you than that." But how; independent from time and
space. They imagine that this is bounded by time and space. But Allah is
unfettered by time and space anyway. How could it be any other way? Independent
from time and space, Allah is closer to us than ourselves. Go on.
OKTAR BABUNA:
This is the visualization of what you said. On any planet or anywhere on Earth,
there is a different direction of sight for everyone standing on any place, at
any point. So when one raises his hands, they will be pointing in a different
direction, as you said. So that means Allah is everywhere and in all directions.
That is crystal clear.
ADNAN OKTAR:
They cannot grasp that. There is one of our brothers who is part-black and
part-white. He railed against me, saying I have become an unbeliever and abandoned
the religion, just because I say Allah is everywhere. He later understood and said:
"I am very sorry may Allah forgive me". He published out a video
saying "I was in error." But my brother, is this something so hard to
understand?
OKTAR BABUNA:
No it is not.
ADNAN OKTAR:
Right? I mean Allah is here now, why do you get disturbed from this fact? Why
do you not want Allah to be here? He says: "I am here, but Allah cannot be."
Is that even possible? You are trying to deify yourself. You are just a shadow
being and Allah is the absolute being and exists everywhere, unbounded by time
and space. There is nowhere that Allah is not there, beyond time and space. And
He is in all atoms. Let us imagine steam rising from food as it boils. There
are quadrillions of atoms in it, and neutrons, protons and electrons in those
atoms. Each one of those electrons is a realm, a galactic system like the Milky
Way. And Allah is there, too. He is everywhere. "They do not measure Allah with His true measure" (Surat
al-Hajj, 74) says Allah. In other words, they cannot go beyond this Milky Way,
this universe. But Allah creates infinite numbers of such universes. Allah is Infinitely
Great. For instance they talk about an atom and they imagine that an atom is a
trivial, ordinary little thing. Cleanliness and dirt also arise through Allah's
creation. For example, stinkweed smells bad to us, but delightful to some other
life form, it is relative. For example, Hell is terribly hot, extremely
disturbing for some people. But other people in Hell freeze. That is a feature
of Hell. It also has a cold aspect. For instance some people freeze in Hell. It
depends on the sensations bestowed by Allah. For example, the Sun can have a
freezing effect on a person, on a being. They may become colder the closer they
get to it. But it burns others, doesn't it? It is something dependent on
perception. These people take their own perceptions as basis, meaning they take
themselves as basis, whereas they should base on Allah. Since they do not base
their thinking on the Mind of Allah but on their own minds, they end up in an
impasse. For instance, we perceive water
as very good, as a very delightful blessing, but for others it can have an acidic
effect, burn them really badly, so they run away and hide from it. They feel
terrible pain. This is all relative; I mean it completely depends on perception.
They should give up taking themselves as basis. They should base their thinking
on Allah. Things should be evaluated according to the terms of Allah, not of
themselves, insha'Allah. If they still did not understand, I can explain it all
again.
OKTAR BABUNA:
It is set out quite clearly in the Qur'an. You have set the facts out. Shall I
read the relevant parts of the verses?
ADNAN OKTAR:
You are to say "I am going to read the verses" not "shall I
read?" I would not tell you not to read verses from the Qur'an anyway.
OKTAR BABUNA: I
take refuge in Allah from the satan "Wherever
you turn the Face of Allah is there..." (Surat al-Baqara, 115) "...His
footstool encompasses the heavens and the earth." (Surat al-Baqara,
255)
ADNAN OKTAR:
He encompasses all the earth and the skies. What does encompass mean? It means
there is nowhere that He is not. For instance in between the pages of this
book, on it.. now is He not here right now?
OKTAR BABUNA:
May Allah forbid. Yes, He is.
ADNAN OKTAR:
Allah is everywhere, but unbound with time or space. They fail to understand as
they regard Him as bounded by time and space (Allah is beyond that). They base
their thinking on themselves, they should not do so. They are to base their
thinking on Allah.
OKTAR BABUNA:
"We said to you, 'Surely your Lord
encompasses the people with His knowledge.' "(Surat al-Isra', 60) "He has counted them and numbered them
precisely." (Surah Maryam, 94) "...Allah
has already encompassed it." (Surat al-Fath, 21) "While Allah is encircling them from behind." (Surat
al-Buruj 20), "We are nearer to him
that his jugular vein." (Surah Qaf, 16)
ADNAN OKTAR:
What does encompass mean? It means right up to the cells, to the atoms. What
atom can do anything without Allah's leave? Look, He says, "But you will not will unless Allah wills. "(Surat
al-Insan, 30). Allah means "I shall will it first, then you will do it."
And in which time frame did He do that? He did it within an infinitely short
time; infinitely short time. See that He created and finished infinitely before
and infinitely after within an infinitely short time. Allah says; "it is
all written in a Book". The whole
of it and it is all over and done with.
They have an insistent desire to
make themselves deity and they do not want Allah to be on Earth. They want Him
to be in the skies. And they want Him to be in a certain point in the skies, in
a certain space. There is that Zeus, a superstitious belief of pagans, the
false deity they made up, they want to see Him like that.
PRESENTER:
On the top of a mountain.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, but Allah is not like
that. There is nowhere that Allah does not exist. All the power and might is
His. But see that there is this most vital point, but they keep forgetting it. He
is unfettered by time and space. They say they cannot understand it. My brother
you cannot, how much of a mind do you have anyway? If he also thinks that all
these are images. They can understand to the extent Allah wills. Allah commands
us to think, He gives us information to think about, and that is the limit of
our thought. We cannot go beyond it. There is a desire for divinity in the
human soul. It stems from that to some extent. It is a devilish feeling. A
Muslim strives against it and not engage in polytheism. But failing to use
their will, they insistently get stuck in it. For instance they claim a will
power; they insistently want to have a will power separate from Allah. They want
to be divine, but even if it is small they want divinity. Both your free will
and total will is over and done with within the Will of Allah, within destiny.
It is all over and done with.
