There is no compulsion or any other practice in the Qur'an and in the Sunnah that would be in conflict with the democratic spirit

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV dated August 24th, 2011

ADNAN OKTAR: First of all the policy of conquest exists in Christianity and also in Judaism and we can see this when we look into the known history. We see what they have done to Muslims, etc.. Why do you not mention the invasions carried out by the Christians? Why do you not mention the invasions carried out by the Jews? Okay, there are also conquests made by the Muslims, there are such invasions; that is right. But our measuring points are the Qur'an and sunnah, the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas).  Do we see any kind of oppression, any kind of unjust behavior, anything that would be in conflict with the democratic spirit in the Qur'an and the Sunnah?

MS.BETUL: No, there are none of course Master, insha'Allah.

ADNAN OKTAR: I seek refuge with Allah from the satan. Almighty Allah says; "There is no compulsion in religion." So behave according to what Allah says. The Messenger of Allah (saas) did not even harm a fly. A cat sits on his frock and sleeps there. He cuts his frock to avoid waking up the cat, that is how compassionate he is. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) is very compassionate, so is the Prophet Jesus Messiah (pbuh), he had never shed a drop of blood, he is as meek as a lamb. His given name is meek; that is the given name of the Prophet Jesus Messiah (pbuh). And this man says "some other Christians slaughtered people." Would this be binding for the Prophet Jesus (pbuh)? It would not. Would that be binding for the Gospel? It would not. That is their tactlessness. If anyone did any kind of oppression in the name of Islam, that is be his own tactlessness. That would not be binding for the Qur'an and Islam. Right?
