It is the Qur'an that explains democracy and secularity

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV and Kackar TV dated June 21st, 2011 

ADNAN OKTAR: Azerbaijan is full of brave youngsters from one corner to the other, it is full of courageous people. But they should give assurance to the Azerbaijani government, to the Azerbaijani state. Most of the states generally are in a state of fear. They have the fear that the state would be brought down, the state is like a person. Just like the majority of people living in fear, the majority of states live in fear as well. They fear death, they fear the death of their state. They are afraid of their state being assassinated, of their state being destroyed, they refrain from their regime being destroyed, they fear from that, so they take precautions that seem rightful in their own way. Our brothers should comfort the state in Azerbaijan. They should clear away that fear. They should insistently state that they support the secular, democratic system. It is the Qur'an that explains secularity; it is the Qur'an that explains democracy. They have learnt it from the Torah, they have learnt democracy from the original of the Torah. These people have learnt it from the Torah, from the Talmud and Psalm. I mean they have learnt it from the old religions, from the true religions. Consequently it is very important to give assurance to the states.

Why should the Azerbaijani state be destroyed my brother? Let them be prosperous, let them grow stronger, why should it be destroyed? Regime; you can embellish the regime, you can make additions, you can repair it; regimes would not be destroyed either. There may be some missing points, you can fix them. For instance what do they do in Turkey? They make changes in the constitution, they make adjustments in the legal system, they correct it. They are not destroying it; destroying is a very dangerous act. If there is a flaw, there is the means to repair it. How? Through democratic means, with the participation of the public, with their joint demand.. Not through imposition, not through bullying; not through destroying or burning. If they approach the matter from this aspect.. There is a panic going on in the Turkic states, there is a panic about reactionary movements. First of all they should remove this. Our brothers who love us are anti-reactionary people, they are anti-bigots. State is a blessing, why should the state be destroyed? The states will remain, the Azerbaijani state would remain anyway. They should remove their fears, they should talk with the prominent figures of the states; they will then be in contentment. That is because only my books are free in Azerbaijan, the other books are forbidden. But, for instance, holding very big meetings; my brother instead of organizing meetings for 10 thousand people, organize a meeting for 200 people; I mean organizing meetings for 10 thousand people, for thousand people.. these would cause discomfort.
